Just after the RES screenings on Monday at The Egyptian theater, I passed this non-descript building that had some striking redish-pink neon light sculptures on the outer wall. I dont have a clue what was really in this building, but I snapped some camera phone images and made this montage. It had a geisha girl on the front door as well.

I have been really looking forward to this, after seeing all the previz sketches and photoshop mockups... finally after the torrential downpours subsided, the sign installers were able to assemble and mount the new Idealab globe/thought bubbles logo on the building. I think that it looks awesome, the colors are VERY vivid and the Idealab type is well rendered; aluminum, and clean.

So I finally was able to get my hands on a Vodaphone 802se from Japan. I somehow won an auction on eBay for this phone, what luck! After I got the phone I had to go through the whole unlocking process. With the release of the newer Powerbooks, Apple has included an updated USB TrackPad (replacing the ADB TrackPad) and some pseudo-proprietary two-finger scrolling features. I say pseudo because it turns out that some of the older Powerbooks and iBook support the enhanced scrolling.

This is an online bitfont editor for both Mac and Windows from pentacom.jp. You basically hand draw, pixel by pixel, your complete alpha/numeric typeface; then save to a TTF file for use in any of your design work. Pretty awesome if you ask me.
